Weekend Reading

Wednesday, July 27th, marked the 63rd anniversary of the armistice that brought the Korean War to an end. In commemoration of this, one little-known member of the United States Marine Corps was posthumously awarded the Dickin Medal.  You can read here about “Sgt. Reckless” and her heroic deeds.

America’s national motto, “In God We Trust”, was signed into law by President Eisenhower 60 years ago tomorrow, July 30th.  Check out this page for the history on how those words first came to be used on our nation’s currency.
